### Frequently asked questions about Madar

**How much does Madar cost?**

There are two plans: Basic at IQD 50,500 a month and Pro at IQD 75,750 a month. Longer subscriptions cost less: 6 months for the price of 5, and a full year for about the price of 9.5 months. Every store starts with a free 10-day trial.

**What do I need to get started?**

An Iraqi mobile number to receive the verification code, then your products with their photos and prices. Your store is ready on a link like yourstore.madar.iq within minutes of signing up.

**Do I need a card for the free trial?**

No. The trial lasts 10 days with every Pro feature except the custom domain, and we do not ask for a payment card to start.

**How do I collect the money for orders?**

Payment is on delivery: your customer pays the delivery company you work with, and you collect the amount from them. Madar never receives or holds your order money, and takes no commission on it.

**Does Madar deliver the orders?**

No. You set a delivery fee for each governorate, even for each area, and you add the delivery companies you work with; they deliver the orders. On Pro and in the free trial you link your own account with Al-Waseet, Modon Express or Hi Express and send an order with one tap, and the order's status follows the shipment. With any other company you hand the order over and change its status yourself.

**Can I use my own domain?**

Yes, with the Pro plan: you connect your own domain, such as yourstore.com, to your store. On the Basic plan your store runs on a Madar address such as yourstore.madar.iq.

**What happens when the trial ends?**

Your store locks until you pick a plan, and your data stays safe as it is. Choose the plan and length that suit you and pay, and your store works again.

**How do I pay for the subscription?**

You pay for the subscription with a Visa or Mastercard card from any bank, and all prices are in Iraqi dinars.

**Can I change my plan or its length?**

Yes. You manage your subscription from the subscription page in the dashboard, and choose the plan and length when you pay.

**Do you have a referral programme?**

Yes. When a store you invited pays its first invoice, both stores get one free month.

### Getting started

**How long does it take to create a store?**

Your store works within minutes of signing up. You sign up with your Iraqi phone number and a one-time code, name your store, pick a theme and add your first product, and you get a link like yourstore.madar.iq to share. How long it takes to add all your products depends on how many there are and how ready their photos and prices are.

**Do I need a domain or hosting to start?**

No. Your store starts on a Madar link like yourstore.madar.iq with no domain or hosting to buy, and you do not need a developer. On the Pro plan you can connect your own domain such as yourstore.com whenever you want.

**In which languages does my store appear?**

Madar stores support Arabic and English, and you choose your store's languages. An Arabic store reads right to left and an English store reads left to right. Arabic and English are the only languages available today.

### Orders and payment

**How do I know a new order arrived?**

You get an instant alert for every new order in the dashboard. You can also receive alerts on WhatsApp once you verify your number, on Telegram, and in the merchant app when it launches. That way no order gets lost among your messages.

**Can shoppers pay online?**

Not yet. Your shoppers pay on delivery today, and that is the only payment method available in your store, while online payment for shoppers comes later. Your own subscription to Madar is paid with a Visa or Mastercard card from any bank.

### Delivery and stock

**Does Madar deliver orders?**

No. Madar does not deliver orders. You set a delivery fee for each governorate and each area and keep a list of the companies you work with. On Pro and in the free trial you link your own account with Al-Waseet, Modon Express or Hi Express, send an order with one tap, and its status follows the shipment. With any other company you hand the order over yourself and update its status in your dashboard.

**Does Madar cover every governorate in Iraq?**

Madar's lists hold 19 governorates and 683 areas, and you can set a delivery fee for each governorate and each area. The lists of some governorates are short today, and an Other option stays available for any address that is not listed.

**Can I manage more than one warehouse?**

Yes. Madar supports multiple warehouses: up to 2 on the Basic plan and up to 5 on Pro. You track the quantity of each product in each warehouse and get low-stock alerts, record new goods as a stock adjustment, and run a stock count to match the shelf with the numbers.

### Store and design

**Can I change how my store looks?**

Yes. You pick one of 6 themes (Riwaq, Lawha, Hala, Souq, Trend and Layl), then adjust the colours and the order of sections in the design studio, preview the change live and save a draft before you publish. A version history keeps your earlier designs.

**Will shoppers find a product if they spell its name differently?**

Yes. The store search understands common variations in Arabic spelling: the hamza forms of alef, the teh marbuta and heh, and the alef maksura and yeh. Someone who types a name with a plain alef and someone who types it with a hamza reach the same product.

### Notifications and the app

**Which WhatsApp messages reach my customers?**

Your customer receives a message when the order is confirmed, one when it goes out for delivery, one when it is delivered, and one if delivery fails. These messages are on by default, and you can switch them off for your whole store in the settings.

**When will the merchant app be released?**

The merchant app for iOS and Android is not published yet, and we do not announce a date. When it launches you get new-order notifications in it and manage orders, products and the low-stock list. Until then you use the dashboard and get alerts on WhatsApp and Telegram.

**Can I receive order alerts on Telegram?**

Yes. Madar supports Telegram alerts for the merchant, in addition to WhatsApp alerts once you verify your number and app notifications when the app launches. So you can choose the channel you follow most during your day.

### Team and data

**Can I control what each employee sees?**

Yes. Every employee has an account with a role and detailed permissions, such as manager, order preparer or accountant, and you can adjust the permissions to their work. An activity log keeps what each account did. The limit is 3 users on Basic and 10 on Pro, including the owner's account.

**Can I export my customers' data?**

Yes. Madar keeps a record for each customer with their order history, and you can export your customer list as a CSV file to open in a spreadsheet program.
