# Your online store in Diyala, where every shopper can follow their order

> You open your online store in Diyala with Madar, and shoppers from Diyala and the rest of Iraq pay cash on delivery, each following their order through a tracking link. Diyala's 10 areas, from Baqubah to Jalawla, each get a delivery fee you decide, and your delivery company takes the parcel from there.

## Orchards, and distant corners

Diyala lies north-east of Baghdad on the Diyala River. Its capital, Baqubah, is about 50 km from Baghdad and is known for its orchards and citrus. The governorate reaches the country's eastern border, so its far north-east, where Jalawla is, lies a long way from Baqubah. Khan Bani Saad, by contrast, sits on the road between Baghdad and Baqubah. With such a spread, some of your shoppers will want to know what stage their order has reached. That is where a tracking link helps: every shopper gets a link showing the status of their order, so they feel reassured without calling you.

## Where do you start when pricing delivery to Diyala?

Make your starting point the basis of the calculation. If you ship from Baghdad, Khan Bani Saad and Baqubah are the nearest and Jalawla is among the farthest. If you ship from Baqubah itself, Khalis and Khan Bani Saad are close and Jalawla is far. Begin with one fee for the governorate, for example IQD 8,000, then adjust each area so it covers what your delivery company charges you, and give distant outskirts a higher band than the city centres. Change the fee in your delivery settings whenever your costs change: it is not a final decision.

## An example delivery fee setup for Diyala

This is an illustrative example with numbers of our own, not any delivery company's price. We start with a general governorate fee of IQD 8,000, then adjust two areas.

| Area | Delivery fee (example) |
| --- | --- |
| All areas of Diyala | IQD 8,000 |
| Al-Huwaish (close to your warehouse) | IQD 6,000 |
| Shafta (far from your warehouse) | IQD 10,000 |

The numbers are for illustration only. You change them in your delivery settings, and the real fee is your decision.

## Frequently asked questions

**What do I do if my delivery company charges more for Jalawla than for Baqubah?**

Give Jalawla a higher fee if your delivery company charges you more for it than for Baqubah. In Madar you set a general fee for Diyala and a separate fee for any area. Jalawla and Miqdadiyah can each have a higher fee, and the other areas stay on the general fee.

**How does a shopper in Jalawla follow an order coming from Baghdad?**

A shopper in Jalawla, like any shopper in Diyala, gets a tracking link in Madar that shows the order's status. WhatsApp messages also arrive when the order is confirmed, goes out for delivery, is delivered or fails delivery. They are on by default and you can switch them off in your store settings. You update the order's status in your dashboard as it moves.

**What if my delivery company does not cover Jalawla?**

In Madar you can list more than one delivery company in your companies list, then hand Jalawla and Miqdadiyah orders to the company that covers them and Baqubah orders to another if you wish. Madar is not a delivery company and does not deliver orders. It keeps your list, your fees and each order's status.
