## Selling in the pilgrimage city

Karbala holds the shrines of Imam Hussein and Abbas. It is a small governorate bordering Najaf, Babil and Al Anbar, and its area list in Madar is short. In the big pilgrimage seasons, Arbaeen above all, it receives very large numbers of visitors from Iraq and abroad, so demand for some products can rise for a few weeks and then settle. It is wiser to check your stock before the season than in the middle of it. Madar tracks the quantity of each product in your warehouse and alerts you when it runs low, and you record each new shipment as a stock adjustment.

## Is one delivery fee enough in Karbala?

Karbala's list is short, so ask the delivery company you work with what it charges to reach the areas of Al-Hussein, Al-Baladiya, Aoun and Hay Al-Naqib. If the amounts are close, keep one fee for the governorate, for example IQD 8,000. If one area differs, give it a fee of its own in your delivery settings. An address the shopper cannot find in the list falls under Other, which has its own fee. Before the big pilgrimage seasons, review your fees with the company to check they still cover your cost. Madar does not deliver parcels: the company carries them, and you manage the order, the fee and the status in Madar.

## Areas in Karbala

Madar's list for Karbala has 6 areas, sorted alphabetically, and you can set a delivery fee for each. Choose Other for any address that is not listed.

Al-Baladiya, Al-Dhubbat, Al-Hussein, Aoun, Hay Al-Naqib, Other

## An example delivery fee setup for Karbala

This is an illustrative example with numbers of our own, not any delivery company's price. We start with a general governorate fee of IQD 8,000, then adjust two areas.

| Area | Delivery fee (example) |
| --- | --- |
| All areas of Karbala | IQD 8,000 |
| Al-Baladiya (close to your warehouse) | IQD 6,000 |
| Hay Al-Naqib (far from your warehouse) | IQD 10,000 |

The numbers are for illustration only. You change them in your delivery settings, and the real fee is your decision.

## Frequently asked questions

**Should the Al-Hussein and Aoun areas have a different fee from the rest of Karbala?**

Yes, if the cost of reaching them differs. In Madar you set a general fee for Karbala and can set a separate fee for any of its areas: Al-Hussein, Aoun, Al-Baladiya, Hay Al-Naqib or Al-Dhubbat. If your delivery company charges about the same for these areas, one fee is enough.

**Can I run a discount coupon for the pilgrimage season?**

Yes. In Madar you create a discount coupon for your store and announce it to your shoppers before the season, then follow the incoming orders in your dashboard. Review your delivery fees at the same time so your cost stays covered after the discount.

**I sell from Karbala. Can I reach shoppers in Najaf and Babil?**

Yes. Shoppers in Najaf and Babil can order from your Karbala store, and you set a delivery fee for each of those governorates. Al Anbar also borders Karbala. Add the delivery companies you work with to your companies list, and follow each order in your dashboard until it is Completed.
