## Cities along one road north of Baghdad

Salah al-Din stretches north of Baghdad along the Tigris. It borders Baghdad to the south and Diyala, Kirkuk, Nineveh and Al Anbar on its other sides. The main road from Baghdad to the north runs through it. The cities of Balad, Samarra, Tikrit and Baiji follow one another along it, each farther from Baghdad than the one before, with Samarra about 125 km out. Tikrit is the governorate's centre, Samarra has the Askari shrine that visitors come to see, and Baiji is known for its oil refinery. Your shoppers are spread across several distant cities, not one. Your store stays one store, but the fee should step up with each city's distance from your warehouse.

## How do you arrange delivery fees along the northern road?

Think of the road from Baghdad to Baiji as a ladder of fees. Put the cities nearest the capital, such as Balad, on the first rung, raise the fee a little for Samarra, then once more for Tikrit and Baiji farther north. Do not build the rungs on the map alone but on what your delivery company charges you: if Tikrit and Baiji cost the same, put them on one rung. Start with one fee for the whole governorate, say IQD 8,000 as an example, then adjust each rung in your delivery settings. If your warehouse is in Tikrit, start from there: lowest for Tikrit and its surroundings, rising southward toward Samarra and Balad and northward toward Baiji.

## An example delivery fee setup for Salah al-Din

This is an illustrative example with numbers of our own, not any delivery company's price. We start with a general governorate fee of IQD 8,000, then adjust two areas.

| Area | Delivery fee (example) |
| --- | --- |
| All areas of Salah al-Din | IQD 8,000 |
| Al-Asri (close to your warehouse) | IQD 6,000 |
| Zahraa (far from your warehouse) | IQD 10,000 |

The numbers are for illustration only. You change them in your delivery settings, and the real fee is your decision.

## Frequently asked questions

**Can I give Samarra a different fee from Tikrit?**

Yes. In Madar you set a fee for each governorate and then one for each area, so Samarra can have one fee, Tikrit another and Baiji a third. The same goes for Al-Dhuluiya, Al-Asri and the rest if you wish. Salah al-Din's 9 areas are listed at the bottom of this page, plus an Other option.

**I ship from Baghdad. Can I take orders from Tikrit and Baiji?**

Yes. Madar does not require your warehouse to be in the governorate you sell to, so your store takes orders from Salah al-Din and from any other governorate you set a fee for. You set the delivery fee for the area the shopper orders from, then hand the order to your delivery company.

**Who carries Samarra orders to shoppers, Madar or the delivery company?**

The delivery company you choose carries them. Madar does not deliver orders: it organises the order, the fee and the status. On Pro you link your account with Al-Waseet, Modon Express or Hi Express and send the order with one tap. You hand the parcel to the company, set the order to Out for delivery, mark it Completed when the shopper receives it, or record Delivery failed if the shopper did not collect it.
