## Wasit, between Baghdad and the south

Wasit lies south-east of Baghdad on the Tigris. Its capital, Kut, is about 160 km from Baghdad and has a barrage where the Shatt al-Gharraf leaves the river. The road linking Baghdad to Maysan and Basra runs through the governorate, so Suwayrah and Aziziyah come before Kut. It is an agricultural governorate bordering Baghdad, Babil, Al-Qadisiyyah, Dhi Qar, Maysan and Diyala. A store run from Kut sells to Baghdad in the north and to Maysan and Basra in the south. Each direction has its own cost, so one fee for every destination will not do.

## How do you set delivery fees from Kut and to it?

If your warehouse is in Kut, Kut's own fee is the lowest, and fees rise as you move away along the Tigris: Aziziyah and Suwayrah toward Baghdad, Sheikh Saad toward Maysan. If your warehouse is in Baghdad, it is the other way round: Suwayrah and Aziziyah are nearest and Kut is farther. Begin with IQD 8,000 as an example for the governorate, then adjust each area to your real cost. Madar does not deliver orders: you hand the parcel to the company, and Madar keeps your fees and your order statuses.

## An example delivery fee setup for Wasit

This is an illustrative example with numbers of our own, not any delivery company's price. We start with a general governorate fee of IQD 8,000, then adjust two areas.

| Area | Delivery fee (example) |
| --- | --- |
| All areas of Wasit | IQD 8,000 |
| Aziziyah (close to your warehouse) | IQD 6,000 |
| Suwayrah (far from your warehouse) | IQD 10,000 |

The numbers are for illustration only. You change them in your delivery settings, and the real fee is your decision.

## Frequently asked questions

**How do I arrange the fees for Suwayrah, Aziziyah and Kut if I ship from Baghdad?**

Start with the areas nearest Baghdad: Suwayrah, then Aziziyah, then Kut, which is farther. If your delivery company charges one amount for Suwayrah and Aziziyah, put them on one fee in your Madar delivery settings, and give Kut a higher one. Numaniyah, Sheikh Saad and the rest of Wasit's areas are in the list at the bottom of this page, with an Other option.

**I sell from Kut to Baghdad and Maysan. Should both get the same fee?**

Not necessarily. In Madar you set a fee for each governorate, so Baghdad in the north can have one fee and Maysan in the south another, based on what you agree with your delivery company. You do not need a separate store for each. Your store takes orders from both, and you hand the parcel to the company that reaches it.

**How much is the delivery fee to Wasit in Madar?**

Madar does not set a fixed fee: you set the delivery fee to Wasit and to each of its areas in your delivery settings. The fee in this page's example, IQD 8,000, is only an illustration, not a delivery company's price. Agree the cost with the company you work with, then set a fee that covers it.
