Sell gifts and handmade products online, even made-to-order ones

An online gift shop on Madar is a ready store at a link like yourstore.madar.iq, where you show your handmade products with their photos and options, and record the made-to-order requests you agree on in chat. Shoppers pay on delivery, and you start with a free 10-day trial with every Pro feature except the custom domain, no card needed.

What a gift and handmade shop needs

  • Made-to-order gifts agreed in chatWhen a shopper asks for a certain colour or a special detail, you agree in messages first, then record it as an order so it is not lost between chats.

  • Photos that carry the buying decisionThe shopper cannot touch the piece, so its photo carries the decision. You need large, clear photos and the colour and size options you define.

  • Occasion gifts and their seasonsGift sales follow the holidays, Mother's Day and graduations, and in those weeks you need an offer that nudges shoppers, such as a discount coupon for the occasion.

  • Few pieces, and customers who come backYou may have only one or two of a handmade piece, so you need to know when it is about to run out, and to remember who bought from you before.

How Madar serves a handmade gift shop

  • A custom chat request enters your dashboard

After you agree with the shopper in chat, you record the order by hand. It joins the order list and moves through the same statuses. Each customer has a record with earlier orders, so you know who comes back and what they bought.

  • Colour, size and variant options

Add a piece once and set its options yourself, such as colour, size or any variant you offer. The shopper picks what suits them on the product page.

  • A storefront that puts your photos first

Choose one of Madar's 6 themes (Riwaq, Lawha, Hala, Souq, Trend and Layl), then change the colours and order the sections so your best photos come first. Preview, save a draft, then publish, and find earlier designs in the version history.

  • Discount coupons for occasions

Create a discount coupon for an occasion such as Mother's Day or graduation season, and share it with your customers on your page or in chat. Coupons are in both plans, Basic and Pro.

  • An alert when a piece is running out

You track the quantity of each piece and option, and get a low-stock alert before you promise a shopper something you no longer have. This helps when you make small batches.

Illustrative example: a small handmade gifts workshop

A small workshop adds a gift box in three colours and sets the delivery fee to IQD 5,000 for Baghdad and IQD 8,000 for the other governorates. Before Mother's Day it creates a discount coupon. When it agrees on a box with a special detail in chat, it records the order by hand and it joins the others. The numbers here are for illustration only.

Questions from gift and handmade sellers

Can I record a custom order I agreed on in chat?

Yes. You agree the details and the price with the shopper in chat, then record a manual order in Madar from your dashboard. It appears in your store's order list and goes through the same statuses, such as Preparing while you make the piece.

How do I remember customers who buy gifts from me every season?

Madar keeps a record for each customer in your store with their earlier orders, so you can see what a returning shopper bought before. You can also export your customers list as a CSV file and contact them yourself ahead of the occasions.

Can the shopper pay in advance through the store?

No. A shopper at a Madar store pays on delivery only, and there is no online payment for shoppers yet. So agree the details of a custom piece in chat before you start making it, and record Delivery failed if nobody receives it.
