As a merchant in Basra you can open your online store on Madar within minutes and take cash-on-delivery orders from shoppers in Basra and every other governorate. You set the delivery fee for each of Madar's 96 Basra areas, and hand the order to the delivery company you work with.
Selling from and to Basra
Basra is a southern governorate on the Shatt al-Arab and Iraq's gateway to the sea through the port of Umm Qasr. Its shoppers live across city neighbourhoods, districts and sub-districts, some far apart, so they want to know the full delivery amount before they order. If you sell from Baghdad or another governorate, your store takes Basra orders just as it takes orders from any governorate, and you decide the delivery fee to Basra. If your warehouse is in Basra itself, you can price the areas close to it lower.
How to set delivery fees in Basra
Basra's areas sit at different distances from the city centre. Start with one fee for the governorate, say IQD 8,000 as an example, then lower it for areas close to your warehouse such as Al-Ashar and Jumhuriya, and raise it for farther areas such as Zubair, Abu Al-Khaseeb and Shalamja, based on what your delivery company charges you. You can change the fee at any time in your delivery settings. If you work with more than one delivery company, list their names in your delivery companies list to know which one suits each area.
