Add staff to your store, and choose what each person can see and do
Staff accounts and permissions in Madar mean that everyone who works with you gets their own staff account with a role, and sees and does only what you allow. You choose from three ready roles, manager, order preparer and accountant, or set the permissions yourself, and an activity log records what happens in your store.
What you control in your team
A separate account for each person
Everyone signs in with their own account, so you never hand over yours. With one account per person, the activity log shows who did what.
Three ready roles: manager, order preparer, accountant
A manager helps you run the store day to day, an order preparer prepares orders and updates their status, and an accountant follows the numbers and payments. Add each person with the role closest to their job.
Granular permissions you set yourself
If no ready role fits, create a role and pick its permissions one by one, for example someone who can look at orders without editing them.
An activity log: who did what, and when
The activity log records what happens in your store and which account did it. Check it when something looks unexpected, before you question your team.
Build your team in three steps
Decide the person's job first
Ask what this person will do in your store: prepare orders, keep the accounts, or run the store while you are away. The answer picks the role.
Add their account and pick a role
Add the staff account in Madar, then pick a ready role close to their work, or a role you created with the permissions you want.
Review the log and adjust
Once the team is working, look through the activity log from time to time, and change a person's permissions if their tasks change.
Good to know about your team
- The number of users depends on your plan: 3 on Basic and 10 on Pro, including the owner's account. The ready roles, granular permissions and the activity log are included in both plans.
- Start with the fewest permissions that let the job get done, and widen them when needed. Giving a permission later is easier than fixing a mistake made with too much access.
- The activity log shows what happened, but it does not replace choosing people you trust. And when someone leaves your team, do not leave their account open.
Questions about staff accounts
How many users can I add to my store?
The Basic plan in Madar includes 3 users and the Pro plan includes 10, and the owner's account counts toward that number. The ready roles, permissions and the activity log are included in both plans, so you do not need Pro to use them.
What ready roles are there, and can I create my own?
Madar has three ready roles for staff: the manager role, the order preparer role and the accountant role. If you need something different, you create a new role and choose its permissions yourself, then give it to whichever staff members you like.
Can I see what my staff did in my store?
Yes. The Madar activity log records what happens in your store and which account did it, so you can review a change and see who made it. That is why each person needs their own account.
